FM Strengthens Workplace Safety

As part of its efforts to strengthen workplace safety amongst its staff, Feng Ming Construction (“FM”) has launched a new safety handbook at its annual safety seminar.

The handbook is a compilation of the safety requirements and the safe working procedures practiced at FM’s project sites. It is compiled in the three most commonly-used languages amongst FM’s staff and will provide all staff with fingertip access to the safety requirements of common site conditions. The handbook is also made compact, with the ability to withstand the rigours of daily usage. This will allow staff to access its contents under any type of site conditions.

The intentional design of the handbook will enhance the safety excellence culture within FM. For example, the handbook provides a detailed visual reference of the personal protective equipment (PPE) required for work-at-height conditions. This will provide staff with instant access to an illustrated checklist of PPE requirements.

In addition to launching the new safety handbook and promoting safety through various activities, FM also celebrated its safety achievements at the seminar. For the year 2016 FM achieved its third consecutive RoSPA safety award as well as an Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) and Accident Severity Rate) that were well below the industry benchmark.
